How to Configure and Use VPN (Windows)
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables a computer to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if it were directly connected to a private network.
Note: VPN connections are only allowed from company devices.
To connect to Pearlman Group’s VPN, you must perform the following setups:
- Click on the Windows Start Menu.
- Type “VPN” in the search bar and click on the VPN Settings option that appears.
- On the VPN Settings screen, click the plus button to add a new VPN connection.
Note: On Windows 11, click the Add VPN button.
- Enter the VPN configuration details below in the available fields and click Save when complete:
VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
Connection name: PMG VPN
Server name or address: mfavpn.pearlmangrp.com
VPN Type: Automatic
Type of sign-in info: User name and password
User name: pearlmangrp\firstname.lastname (Note: Your user ID will be provided by IT)
Password: ******** (Note: Your password will be provided by IT)
- Click on the name of the newly created VPN connection and click Connect.
Note: On Windows 11, the Connect button appears on the right of the VPN name.
- After a few seconds, the VPN connection status should show Connected. If it does not, click on Advanced Options and make sure that all configuration details have been entered correctly.
